Just forty years ago, Torremolinos was a quiet and obscure fishing village.

Torremolinos, the first resort heading west from Malaga, attracts people of all ages, drawn by the beauty of the pristine beaches, which stretch out for miles and promise many happy hours of sunbathing and watersports. After dark, it also gives people non-stop action to suit every taste.



Whilst the 40 years of tourism have made their mark on the town, away from the neon signs and the disco music, you will still find a town with a delightful character and atmosphere.

Abundant with tempting shops and people of every nationality, located right at the heart of the Torremolinos is the pedestrian only street, Calle San Miguel. A people watchers paradise where restaurants, street entertainers, vendors, sophisticated shops and ice-cream salesmen meet and compete to create an ambience uniquely memorable and uniquely Torremolinos.

The area of La Carihuela, the original fisherman's district of Torremolinos and just west of the town centre takes pride in some of the best seafood available in the entire region of Costa del Sol. The new promenade here which extends as far as the Port in Benalmadena and which, to the east, connects La Carihuela with Playamar beach area, past the rocky peninsula of Santa Clara.
