"A Way of Life" is the Motto of Marbella. This luxurious resort town does seems to have it all and is again, rising to the fore as a favourite location with the rich and famous. Even less notorious people are visiting Spain's answer to St Tropez.



Marbella has improved it's image thanks to a considerable investment initiated by the town's colourful and controversial late mayor, resulted in a massive landscaping re-development, which now makes it ideal to look for property for sale in Marbella.

From Guadalamina to Cabopino, the Marbella coastline stretches along some 26 kilometres of sunny beaches, bathed by the Mediterranean and where you can enjoy traditional fish and seafood favourites like sardines on a split, fried fish and delicious and incomparable paella. Along the beach front there is a wide choice of property for sale, with a wide choice to suit everyone.

Marbella away from the beach front and the jet-set, you will find a charming individuality which can be best appreciated by exploring the back streets in the old part of town. One of the prettiest places is the fabled 'Orange Square' located just off the main street in the older district of Marbella home to the 16th century town hall.

Orange Square, or "La Plaza de los Naranjos", with grand buildings, small shops, art galleries, bars and bistros and is a hive of activity day and night. Depending on the time of year, the colours can be vibrant, with the trees and exotic tropical plants set against dazzling white buildings and a deep blue sky.



Explore the warren of the surrounding narrow streets, where homes, shops and businesses intermingle to creating the small village atmosphere, as against a cosmopolitan town. There are numerous excellent restaurants and bars to choose from. Those specialising in the expensive, exclusive cordon bleu to the more natural individuality of a backstreet Spanish bar where Serrano ham is gently cured and the tapas is the tasty main meal.

Towards the coast is the La Alameda park where you can take a leisurely personal horse and carriage and travel in times gone by, or walk along the seashore of Avenida del Mar. This is probably the most delightful promenade on the Costa, incorporating high class restaurants and glitzy bars, free from any concrete jungle and kiss me quick tat!

There are two large parks in Marbella with an amphitheatre at Constitution Park frequently used for concerts and plays during the summer months. Casinos, clubs and most sporting activity under the Costa sun, few places match Marbella for tennis, sailing and golf, noting there are three pleasure craft harbours with a vast mixture of moored boats.

However, for the ultimate in coastal charm and charisma, Puerto Banus is hard to beat west of Marbella town. This is the place to see and be seen, watching the world go by, window shop at one of several world renowned fashion houses and boutiques or watch many of the splendid boats and yachts. The port has grown over the years to include a casino, commercial shopping centre, El Corte Ingles department store, marine observatory and a multi cinema. At night Puerto Banus comes alive with alfresco cafes, piano bars and discos which remain open for the best in dawn patrols.

Golf courses in the area include Marbella Golf, set amidst the rolling countryside and one of the finest championship courses in Europe. The course has an overall playing length of 6,000 metres and a par rating of 72. It was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr.
