Located 15km south west of Malaga airport between the resorts of Fuengirola and Torremolinos, Benalmadena is a resort split into 2 main sections.

Benalmadena Costa is a purpose-built coastal resort extending 8km along the coast which climbs steeply up into mountains behind. The cable car from the coast up to the top of the mountain is a well worthwhile trip, where you can experience panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada, Gibraltar and on clear days, the Moroccan coastline. There are more than 8km of blue flag beaches some of which are in small coves and often have rocks at the ends of them. Other attractions include the SeaLife Aquarium and Selwo Marina, a theme park with dolphins and sea lions.

Benalmadena Marina can handle more than 1,000 boats and yachts of all types and this charming port is the focal point for Benalmadena's social scene and is central to the resort.

Benalmadena Pueblo, the original village, lies about three kilometres inland at an elevation of approximately 200 m above mean sea level.Its core consists of a typical pretty white village, typical of Andalucia.

Torrequebrada lies on the outskirts of Benalmadena and is the location of the town's golf course. Built in the 1970's by Malaga's favourite golf course designer, Pepe Gancedo, Torrequebrada has flourished and is highly popular and a delight to play, with lakes, mature semi-tropical vegetation and superb views of the Mediterranean.
